Is this you?
Your children go to a Dutch school, and you want to be able to speak to their teachers and playmates.
You want to be more confident while speaking Dutch in daily life and understand what the people around you are saying, for example the cashier at the Albert Heijn or your colleagues at lunchtime.
You understand a lot, but get stressed out if you need to speak Dutch, so you hardly ever do.
When you do try to speak Dutch, people tend to reply in English.
You keep telling yourself to start learning Dutch, but you are dreading the feeling of being back in a classroom situation and having to do lots of homework.
You want to improve your Dutch, but you are busy, so you need flexible Dutch lessons that easily fit into your schedule.
You don't want the lessons to feel like a chore. Can they be fun, please?
And so it should be! I believe learning a language should be enjoyable and stress-free, and that you should learn at your own pace, with as much (or as little) homework as you want.
My tutoring style is personal and easygoing with a good pinch of humour. You can only learn to express yourself and communicate with confidence – if you enjoy learning Dutch.
So you need to feel comfortable and at ease, and that's why my lessons feel like a chat with a friend and a breeze.
Dutch for beginners - learn Dutch from scratch while having a blast with online games.
Prepare for the civic integration exam (inburgeringsexamen)
Prepare for the State exams/ NT2 exams.
Dutch for parents -Feel more confident speaking to your children's teachers and playmates (afblijven! don't touch that!) or other Dutch people you meet. (Wil je mee-eten? Do you want to stay for lunch/dinner?)
Impress your Dutch in-laws and friends. Next time you go to a Dutch birthday party, you could talk about koetjes en kalfjes (make small talk). You’ll be participating in the conversations of your Dutch family, instead of them having to make the effort to speak English with you.
